We had a beautiful room, unfortunately no minibar, but for the good rooms there is access to the Executive Lounge with drinks and snacks during the day and at night. That's great. Location is wonderful and the hotel is very stylish.
Breakfast is okay, limited selection. No sewing kit, no shoeshine kit. Reception was rather bored. Breakfast service once good, once very tough.

Had a really good stay on Holidays, and would stay here again. The location was absolutely perfect and exceptionally nice close to a college and a cathedral. This hotel was set in a very attractive area.
The staff was busy.

My time at The Alex was quite enjoyable. The location stood out, close to Trinity College and just a short walk to the bustling city center. The King Room I got was beautifully designed. Loads of space made it comfortable. I loved having a Nespresso machine in the room. Free bottled water. The gym shared with nearby hotels was excellent, plenty of equipment available. One hiccup came with check-in. I arrived early and had to wait a while for my room to be ready. I understand it was my fault for arriving at 11 am, but a bit more efficiency would have been nice. The breakfast buffet provided a fair selection, but it felt slightly overpriced. Staff friendliness was a constant plus throughout my stay, always willing to help out. A great experience with a few small areas to improve.

The hotel is in a good location - quiet area yet only 10 mins from Dublin city center by foot and the Aviva stadium. The room is spacious and clean, has a great shower. Hotel staff in particular the receptionist and manager are very helpful.
There was no mini bar or ice machine facilities lcoated in the room or on the floor

Very soft bed and good position...
Not the best in terms of hygiene

The bed was very comfortable, the rooms nicely furnished, the food was good
The bathroom was very small for an executive room, the bed linen had holes, at 7 o'clock I was woken by a very loud ventilation (?) from the neighbouring room (?), even the mirror was shaking, the executive lounge was nicely furnished but not worth the price

Convenience of being downtown close to Transportation. Able to walk to Fleet St. Trinity College and other locations. Marcin and Michael, very helpful front desk and bar area.
I have a large complaint that we were charged an excessive amount on the May 17th night versus the rate for the 15th and 16th. The rate was increased 70 Euros. Normally when booking 3 nights there is a lower rate versus staying one night. I would appreciate knowing the details on why this occured.

The best thing about the hotel was the reception staff who were very helpful, professional and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.
The breakfast was quite poor although not too expensive. Minimal choice of fresh fruit and cereals/yogurts, tea/coffee was served a cup at a time rather than a pot being left at the table so you had to sit and wait for top-ups instead of being able to help yourself when it suited. The toaster didn't really toast so had to wait ages, putting it through 2 or 3 times! Quality of food served was OK (except for the processed cheese slices) but you get much better choice all round at a Premier Inn!

We were given a suite which was absolutely amazing! It was disappointing that we were staying only one night!
The email confirming the booking did not give a precise address or location for the hotel and we walked for ages around Merrion Square before asking in one of the other O'Callaghan hotels for help!
